A Rant About Relationships

No, this is not one of those alone on Valentine's Day rants about how much the holiday sucks and why people in relationships should just jump off a cliff. This is complete honesty right here. It sucks to be single, it totally and completely sucks. But why does it have to be that way? I completely understand wanting to find someone to be happy with and enjoy life with. I want that. But when did we all get so dependent on a relationship? It's because we all want to find love. We all want that special someone who will stick with us through thick and thin, someone we can trust and love with all of our heart. Sounds enticing, doesn't it? But it obviously comes with all the pain that accompanies love. So much pain. The point of loving someone is getting through the tough times though, and if you can do that then it is true love.
The point of this is that just because you are not in a relationship doesn't mean you have to go around desperately trying to find a guy to be with! Be independent, know who you are outside of a relationship, away from all that drama, and once you're ready, get back in the game! People who jump from one relationship to another right away must not be happy with their life. A significant other doesn't need to be the thing in your life that makes you feel complete, but when you do find that one person make sure they do make you feel complete.
I guess it's time I go take my own advice. Find something worth living for, your purpose in life, do good, and be happy!
